    What Is Special?

Founded in 1952, Adler School of Professional Psychology is the oldest independent school of Psychology in the US. The school is named after Alfred Adler(1870-1937), the first community psychologist, whose theories and teachings of psychology emphasize the uniqueness of every individual's relationship and connection with society. Adler School is committed to continuing the work of Alfred Adler by producing socially responsible graduates, by providing holistic services to individuals and communities, and by promoting social justice.

International students at the Adler School of Professional Psychology enjoy the culturally diverse backgrounds of our student popultation in a downtown Chicago setting. The school is easily accessible via public transportation and there are many housing options nearby available to students. In a small classroom setting, international students enjoy personal attention from the professors and academic advisors. There are also a number of resources available and student organizations for international students to participate in.

The School's innovative program curricula, which include a doctoral program in clinical psychology and several Master of Art programs, prepare socially responsible practitioners by promoting social justice through education and training.
