What Is Special?

John A. Logan College is a rural two-year college in the southernmost part of Illinois. Currently, our student population is 5,926 in Baccalaureate-Transfer and Career Education; over 7,000 students in credit and non-credit continuing education classes; and over 13,000 are trained through the Center of Business and Industry. Of the full-time, first-time, degree seeking students enrolled, over 65 percent receive some form of financial aid. The College employs 600 full-time and part-time faculty and staff. The population of the College district is 142,000.

John A. Logan College is a comprehensive, public community college in the southern region of Illinois. The College is located in a rural region that continues to be characterized by poverty, low educational attainments, low mobility and high unemployment. The College serves five counties in southern Illinois: Williamson, Jackson, and portions of Perry, Randolph, and Franklin. John A. Logan College has long been one of Illinois’ fastest growing community colleges.
