The English Language Academy offers three programs:
Our Intensive English Program (IEP) is an academic English program that prepares students for academic success in American university degree programs. I-20s are issued for full-time IEP students who need to apply for a student visa. This program is offered year-round. Our TOEFL Intensive Program (TIP) is a test preparation program that helps non-native speakers improve their scores on the TOEFL-iBT exam. New ELA students are generally not eligible for this program until they have completed one quarter of study in the IEP. Other restrictions apply. This program is offered in Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters. Our Summer Enrichment Program (Chicago Experience) is an academically challenting experiential language program that allows adult learners to improve their English proficiency level as they explore Chicago's ethnic communities and its architecture. This program is offered only in Summer. I-20's are not issued (or required) the program is short term and less than full-time study.
Applying to the ELA
We accept applications year-round. Our IEP sessions begin in September, January, March, and June. You can complete the IEP application at our website http://ela.depaul.edu .
